What to expect from such an event!

For years I have utilized jargon that most people would not understand. One of the most questioned is the DISC Personality Profile system. In business, I can talk to a person and within minutes determine what personality profile type he/she falls under.

The DISC Personality Profile system is an in-depth analysis of people’s behavioral patterns and when used effectively, it is a huge advantage when dealing with people. This personality profile event was a turning point in my career and my personal life.

My first personality profile test in 2002 revealed important information

I took my first personality profile test in 2002 when I became a Broker with EXIT Realty of NJ. I still remember shortly after the test, we were all divided into four corners of the room and labeled as a D, I, S and C. I was at the “D” table and had no idea what was to come.

Everybody at my table had a serious demeanor and we were determined to know the bottom line. I felt as though I should be back at the office working and I am certain others felt the same. Angel Tucker, the coach for the personality profile event, began to explain the meaning of the four letters: “D” Dominant; “I” Influence; “S” Steadiness; and “C” Conscientiousness.

As the day progressed, this quickly became comical to watch because each table was easily communicating and understanding each other as if they were best friends for years. None of us knew each other prior to the personality profile event and in amazement, I was on the same wave length of every person at my table.

We truly had so much in common and being a “D” is not common. Out of 100 strangers attending the personality profile event, there were only 10 people at my table.

We learned why we were unable to communicate with certain people

I quickly caught onto the concept of this personality profile event and what the coach’s goal was with this large group of broker owners and managers. Many of us are unable to communicate with certain people and quick to cast blame on the other party in the moment of frustration. This breakdown of communication in most cases is due to the lack of personality profile knowledge.

Being a strong “D” type personality, I now understand why I clashed with some people and got along with others. This personality profile event has taken my career and personal life to heights I never knew existed.

In my career, I am able to get more out the agents by knowing and understanding their personality profile and coaching them the way they want and need to be coached using the personality profile system. Trying to get an “S” or “C” to cold call for business will destroy them. These two personality profile types get extremely anxious at the thought of cold calling, but send them out door knocking in teams and they will become some successful agents.

My personal relationships also benefitted from the personality profile event

Prior to my first personality profile event, my personal relationships were in shambles so I worked incredibly long hours as a vice. I found myself attracted to women of a certain personality profile type that lasted on average for six months. I could not understand what the issue was but I would become annoyed with the relationship at about the six-month mark.

Once I became proficient with the personality profile system, I understood why my relationships always went south; I had been with the wrong personality profile type.

The DISC Personality Profile System has enhanced my quality of life. I feel empowered, confident and enriched every day and will continue to benefit in all business and personal relationships because of the personality profile system. I highly recommend this form of training for all walks of life.
